Lockdown and social distancing means charities face a loss of vital income at the very time that the need for support increases. Oasis is no exception, having cancelled all our events for the year ahead. However, supporters have swiftly coming up with new ways to raise funds to support our work, with virtual fundraisers including the 2.6 challenge. Radio presenter Gemma Cairney raised over £750 with a Zoom Disco, Bee Bishop undertook a mini ‘triathlon’ running and cycling 2.6 miles and dipping in the cold sea for 2.6 minutes. Friend Glenis Cheesman sold 26 drawings/paintings for 26 days and Oasis CEO Deb exercised for 26 minutes every day for 26 days!
