How your donations help
Donations provide a vital source of income for our organisation and are used to pay for things that our mainstream funding doesn't cover.
Most of our families in the refuge come to us with what they stand up in. During the Covid19 pandemic, social distancing, restrictions and isolation can perpetuate and escalate the severity of domestic abuse, and make it harder for victims to reach help.
Below is an example of what your donation could give them.
£5 could buy a teddy bear for a child confused and frightened by the move to refuge
£15 could pay for a set of pyjamas and underwear for a child who has fled violence
£30 could pay for a counselling session for a woman traumatised by abuse
£50 could buy a kitchen starter kit with pots pans and utensils for a family resettling from refuge
£100 could help us to offer virtual support to women who are unable to attend support because of the pandemic
£200 could pay for days out for the refuge children
£1000 could pay for a groupwork programme for women in recovery from the trauma of domestic abuse

It is a scheme introduced by HMRC which allows us to increase the value of your donation by at least 25% at no additional cost to you! For example, if you give us £5 a month, we can claim an extra £1.25, making your gift worth £6.25 a month!
To Gift Aid a donation, simply download and print a Gift Aid Declaration form and send it to: Claire Fenley, Oasis Domestic Abuse Service, PO Box 174, Margate, Kent, CT9 4GA or email it to fundraise@oasisdomesticabuseservice.org

Payroll Giving
Payroll Giving is a flexible scheme which allows anyone who pays UK income tax to give regularly and on a tax free basis to the charity of their choice.
Payroll Giving is one of the most tax-effective methods of giving to charity. Donations are deducted before tax so each £1.00 you give will only cost you 80p, or 60p if you're a higher rate tax payer.
How it works
This table shows how giving through your salary each month can really add up for the charity:
Talk to your payroll department to see if you can contribute to charity via GAYE and HMRC will meet part of your donation. Visit www.payrollgivingcentre.org.uk or www.cafonline.org to find out more.
